Our Blogs

Being an on going effort, we at Living Tree Academy have decided to change our blog format. Initially, we decided to set up one blog and discuss the daily events along with all activity. Well, after only a brief month of blogging, the amount of material that is being worked on was just to abundant for one site.

So now, you will get daily updates from Belize on this "Updates" blog. On the
LTA Blogs site, there will be varying categories for discussion. Some of these
areas of discussion are:

Staff  House Menu
Biblical Curriculum
Building (Construction)
Purchasing Land
Political / Governmental Affairs
Academic Curriculum
Student Record Keeping
Student Application and Acceptance
Finances
Organic Gardening
Lesson in Living

There will be others added as time goes on.

Once again, all of this information is being documented to help others that might pass this way. (Are inspired to take on a similar project to help young people.)

I think you will enjoy the following poem:

The Bridge Builder
An old man, going a lone highway,
Came, at the evening, cold and gray,
To a chasm, vast, and deep, and wide,
Through which was flowing a sullen tide.

The old man crossed in the twilight dim;
The sullen stream had no fear for him;
But he turned, when safe on the other side,
And built a bridge to span the tide.

"Old man," said a fellow pilgrim, near,
"You are wasting strength with building here;
Your journey will end with the ending day;
You never again will pass this way;
You've crossed the chasm, deep and wide-
Why build you this bridge at the evening tide?"

The builder lifted his old gray head:
"Good friend, in the path I have come," he said,
"There followeth after me today,
A youth, whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm, that has been naught to me,
To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be.
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;
Good friend, I am building this bridge for him."

A Heart Sharing!

God evening to you!

Living Tree Academy has a slogan, “Where Education and Adventure meet”.
But, what exactly does this mean?!?

If one chooses to track the history of education, the roots do not spring from
brick structures where ivy grows on the walls and stuffy egotistical old men
flaunt their intellectual skills over inspiring minds for allegiance, instead it stems
from bright eyed students listening intently to the wise. (With wisdom coming from the  application of knowledge). In other words, the young bright student listening to those that have put into application the teachings which they expound.

These teacher student relationships can been seen in great examples like Aristotle, Plato, Socrates, Elijah, and Jesus Christ. It is this master/student relationship which Living Tree Academy is in pursuit of.

We are looking for those that have knowledge and WISDOM to impart. Whether it is in  language, organic gardening, finance, health, science, child care,  or the right dividing of the Word of God; Living Tree Academy seeks out doers!!!

Those that want to break out of the mold of society and aspire to greatness in education; Are ALWAYS welcome at LTA.

What Is The Way Corps?

Not ancient walls and ivy-mantled towers
Where dull denominational traditions
Rule with heavy hand
Believer’s deeply springing powers.

Not spacious pleasure courts
Or lofty temples of athletic fame
Where devotees of sports mistake a pastime
For life’s highest game.

Not fashion or renown
Or wealthy patronage and rich estate;
No, none of these can crown The Way Corps with light And make it truly great.

But equipped believers, ambassadors strong and wise
Who teach because they love the teacher’s task
And find their richest prize
In eyes that open, and in minds that ask.
