Caribbean Depot

Arrangements continue to be made for a load of rock to be delivered to the property (road).  The barge did indeed arrive this morning but time did not permit them to deliver it.  Delivery will be made Monday morning in time for the next set of volunteers to help spread it onto the road.  One step at a time.  Each day believing God just as the children of Israel did by stepping their feet onto dry land!

A special permit was granted from the Town Council and picked up yesterday as well.  Confirmation was made with the company (Caribbean Depot) that the permit granted by the Council was sufficient for the delivery across the bridge.

Barge and Haul Materials

One of the nuncios of living and building on an island is the scarcity of rock, sand, wood, etc.  Consequently everything has to be barged onto the island.  Yesterday LTA representatives met with a company that barges materials from the mainland.  They said the maximum that could be hauled at once was 8 yards which will be the base of the road.  In order to get this material across the bridge to the north side, we met with a Town Council representative to obtain a permit.  The councilman agreed to provide the permit.  Now we are waiting for the barge to bring the materials from the mainland on Saturday.

Similar fill that will be used for the road
With the completion of Phase One to the road construction, these upcoming materials will be used to complete Phase Two.

LTA Board Pioneers

Today LTA Board volunteers prepare the staff house with supplies.  The Bells graciously purchased an abundance of materials before returning to the States.  Coming down for three weeks, they have been pioneers in this great adventure this is just the beginning!  We are thankful for their lives and heart to volunteer in Belize and believe in the mission of LTA.

So long from the high country
May the Lord watch over you
May a song be in your heart
In everything you do
'Til the next time we're together
May a smile be yours each day
So long from the high country
Y'all come on back this way.
